    radiator price

Is $225 +shipping a good price for a used (but good condition) radiator for a '69 V6 CJ5? Any other good (cheaper, but still work and look decent) alternatives?

You could give folks some time to answer. If 24hrs goes by then it might be wise to bump the thread back to the top.

I don't think I've seen a post go unanswered here, it just make take more than two hours. ;)

It's really gonna depend on what you want. I got a custom built 4 core Rad that fit exactly like I wanted for @ $300. It was made locally and has a 5 year warr on workmanship - it's what I wanted.

Seems a bit high for me. But then again people forget that the value of something is directly related to what someone will pay for it. Where can you get another radiator that fits your needs for less?

Has the used radiator been leak and flow tested by a radiator shop? If not, - only my opinion - price is high. I have plenty of M38 radiators that look great but dont pass any water. They need new cores at about $500 each.
A pair of tanks for $200 is too high.

Is this a 4cyl or 6cyl? do you want original or is a custom look ok?

I've provided the space in your profile to fill this information in for just this situation. If you're unsure of what engine/axle, etc., you can click on the Year and Model and it pops up an information box for his Jeep.

:v6: that is in my profile... :) the custom look is okay, but only if I am going to spend less than $225 and it bolts in, what the previous owner put in there is held in with zip ties and a bungee cord...and the hood won't close because it is WAAAY too big....not acceptable! I have seen that people have put Fiero and mustang 289 radiators in their trucks, but are there any pictures out there, and how is the installation (will it use the mounting holes that are there, and will it not look half a**ed? Thanks guys!

I just bought a recently re-cored '72 V8 radiator for $50 off Craigslist (I didn't need one just happened to be in the right place at the right time).

"Good deal" is a relative thing . . . If you need one now and this one will work it's a good deal! If your not really looking for one (like me), it's too much!

Do you have any radiator now? If you can locate a real old-fashioned radiator shop, they can recore your existing radiator, probably for about that much.

I have a radiator, but it is the wrong one. It is about a foot too long and 6 inches too wide, the PO shoehorned it in and used zipties and a bungee cord to hold it in place. The hood will not close because it is too tall. So that is why I am looking for a different one :)

I posted a classified ad here a few days ago, and I just now posted one at WillysTech, didn't know about that one! We'll see what happens, I don't exactly need it tomorrow, but the one that is in there annoys me... Thanks!
