Does anyone have a Napa, or other chainstore, or Raybestos, etc part # for the shoes? Or, are they mostly just avail from the online Jeep parts folks?

Pretty much just available from Jeep specialty places. Herm stocks them as I'm sure many others do. I've found sometimes the drum won't go on with the new shoes and they either need to be "arced" to fit the drum or you can grind the end of the shoe until they fit. Not always the case but I have run into it.

Heres what I did, send them to Florida Brake and Clutch in St pete Florida, they will reline them and send them back.
I had mine done years ago, I also had them redo my original clutch, yep thats right my clutch is 37 years old and was completely rebuilt including the springs on the pressure plate. It was about 30% less than buying new or remanufactured.
My shoes are even riveted instead of glued and didn't drag or anything else.

Appreciate the thoughts. I don't have any idea what usage your 37 yo jeep clutch got. I do know that I have gotten ~175K miles out of a clutch and typically go 75+K on brakes. I live in a rural area and commute to a small city and I don't like using the brakes or the clutch =ultra conservative driver. I was just looking for some shoes that I didn't have to wait a week for or pay too much for 2-day shipping.

My clutch was rebuilt after 169,000 miles, the TC brake shoes cost $21 to have relined including shipping, they were returned within a week of mailing them off. The clutch cost $121 including a pilot tool, pilot bushing and a throwout bearing. The place I mentioned will also custom tailor a clutch to your specific needs and they make alot of specialty clutch's for the racing industry, offroad, drag racing and tractor pulling.

I see you are in CA. Herm is in Oregon or Washington State. A lot less shipping than sending stuff off to Florida and back.

I had my TC brake shoes reline here in town.. I found a place and it wasn't too costly. It was many years ago, and I cant remember the cost. Mcruff, $21 shipped sounds like a great price. So, I think you should be able to find someone locally in CA.

I don't know how much Herms shoes cost.. but remember, usually auto parts places have a core charge on brake shoes.

Herm won't just sell the shoes, you must turn in your drum as he sells the drum and shoes as a package deal, at least thats the way he used to do it.

Hmm, probably because he arcs the shoe to the drum which is the "best" way to do it. Other suppliers can get them too. R&P should be able to get them as well as the others listed on the board.
