I am wondering if anyone here has purchased the Jeep repair manual cd's (Jeep Shop Manuals on CD-ROM)? Are they worth it or should I just look for a Jeep service manual? Thanks in-advance.

I've got a Willys Truck manual on CD. Honestly it sounds like a nice idea but in the end I've found I really prefer the hard copy I've for a Jeepster when it comes to working on the CJ-5.

I have a couple of manuals in PDFs on disk, and I find them very useful. Plus, printers are cheap, and you can print out the pages if you want hard copy. Some manuals I've seen on CD have not been very good quality though - I guess you have to take your chances there. I'd copy the whole shebang onto a hard drive - CD access is slow in comparison, and big PDFs don't load that fast.

Yeah, I used to use that line of thinking. I ended up with grease on the keyboard because I'd be in the middle of a job and need more info. Then I'd print out and lose or throw away and have to print out again. For me just having a hard copy and knowing where it is, is the best solution.

Scientific articles OTOH I find PDFs to be indispensable.

    YMMV.

Grease? On your hands? Hah ha ha ha ha! ;)

Nowadays I use GLOVES - the nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight or mechanics gloves. No more greasy hands, but it takes a little adapting. Recommended.

x2 on the nitrile gloves. Didn't think I'd like them but they work quite well (unless you tear one and don't stop to put another one on R))
