Luke drove down from SC to pick up my 67 commando. He's one of Tallyjeepers' friends, and they bought my commando after seeing on the early cj-5 classifieds. I promised him that if he didn't like what he saw when he got here that I wouldn't hold it against them if they backed out. He's building it for his fiance, Robyne, and said that it's a "wedding gift" for her. Boy, is he ever a lucky man!

Of course, my wife is very patient with me for all my jeeping, bur she was glad to see at least one of my projects go to a good home. Hopefully, we'll get to see Luke's progress here. Congrats Luke! You are now officially in debt forever, as one will NEVER be enough....

O.K., here's an update. The Jeepster has arrives safely in S.Carolina, and has been unloaded at it's new home. Luke and Robyne are a bit on the tired side, as they left Tallahassee at about 5:45 this morning, so there was no wrench turning this afternoon :( . I'm sure work will begin shortly though!!

Alan, Here's an E- from Luke, and another from me  .

THANKS! It was a pleasure meeting them both- real nice folks. I personally felt IMHO that I was ripping them off though - I even offered to give them their deposit back and they could walk away if they didn't like what they saw there. Luke said that it was better than he expected! Oh well. Glad that they are happy with it, and made it safely back home. I got a call from this guy from Palatka who has a lot of Jeepster parts, as I had called him back in March for parts for the 67. He has everything that Luke needs- I gave him Luke's number, I hope that was ok. That guy even has rare stuff like rear tail lights and such, both of which are missing on the 67. I also bid on (and won) a commando gauge cluster for $2.94 that I am going to forward on to Luke, as the one in the 67 was hacked on. Looking forward to seeing his progress- get him on this site John.. we need more commandos!!!!!:v6:

Luke has already talk with the gentleman in Palatka, and may be getting a few odds and ends from him here and there. I have instructed them to both become members here!! I told them that now that they were Jeep owners, that they needed to met their new Brothers and Sisters. I have known Luke since I was 3 years old, and I consider him not only the closest friend I have in this world, but pretty much my brother. I have no doubts that he and Robyne will be recieved here with open arms....you guys (and gals!) are the best that have ever been!!!!

Truth, this forum is way kewl- especially since the threads don't drift into politics or religion EVER, and that's what makes most forums a pain to post on. The guys here are truly good folks.

I talked to Luke today- he wants photos of my roll bar, which I will post here and to his email tomorrow. I also sent his gauge cluster, which he should receive by Thursday, that's what UPS said today.
