washers on head bolts

    can anyone tell me why the military engines have washers to the head bolts and the civilian not????

    I've wondered the same thing. On my A1 there were no washers where the engine liftinig bracket and the oil filter bracket attach. How about yours?

    the same thing as yours and there is no washer and at the gas pedal linkage.thera are no missing.military manual says not to fit a washer there
