I tried the search, but it's not working. What did you use for a power steering hose when converting. Thanks for your help.

It depends on what car your box and pump came out of. The newer one's have an "o"-ring that seals them where the older ones were just flared. I'm using a "flared" hose out of a '68 CAMARO. I just went to AUTO-Zone and had them pull up a bunch of them on the computer (they have pictures of them) until I found one that looked like it would fit. They pulled it off the shelf and BINGO, I was good to go. REMEMBER: You only need to buy the "pre-made" high pressure hose. The low-pressure side you can buy in bulk (cheaper) than the one they sell by application.

Did you guys take some kind of mock-up tube/hose assembly with you so the fab shop knew how to form the bends?

Dave I actually towed my Jeep over to the hose shop.......I wanted to make sure it was done right and fit well before I left.......think you'll need a 1/2"-9/16"-5/8" open end wrenches with you when you go

I took an old piece of brake line and bent it to fit the shape I wanted. I then wrapped a piece of heater hose around it to represent the area that was to be power steering hose. Took it to a shop about 15 miles from my house, they asked what fittings were on it, mine has O-ring on pump, flare on box. They made the hose and when I tried it on it fit perfect. I then called them and had a duplicate made several days later on my way to work.

I had mine made too. Here in Denver it was $149.00 for two. Ouch!...but they work well and I didn't have to buy the special tools to put the ends on.

Thanks for all the help. A few extra dollars is worthwhile in my book for a clean installation! With all the effort the axle swap and steering modification has required, I'm sure to be showing it off to anyone I can. A cobbled pair of hoses are not part of that picture, either.

You can make the return hose yourself - it's low pressure, and is held together by clamps.
