Hello all. Im fixing to start a front disc upgrade on the 65 Tux. I had the front wheels apart this weekend and found I needed new drums badly. For the cost of the drums, I can convert to disc.(i have a buddy with lots of 4x4 parts to scrap) I will take lots of pics and document stuff for anyone interested. I also found a Strange brand master cylinder in Summit I will be using. I looks like it should work great underfloor. It has the side mounting holes so maybe not too much modding will need to be done to mount it. STR-B3360. We will see how it goes.

Its a fun project...while you're in there, consider converts from knuckle bolts to studs, there is a wealth of knowledge on this site for both the disc conversion as well as the studs...

if you get in a bind make this website your first stop. Look in the technical library for the disk swap write-up.

    good luck.

While waiting on the parts, I put an electric fan on last night. Seems with no fan load the little f134 revvs a bit more crisp, and has a little more hitch in er' giddyup.

I just finished the swap last month, still haven't gotten all the air out though! What a pain

Did you bleed them by starting at the wheel furthest from the MC? I had the same problem for a while but bled furthest 1st, then next furthest and so on. Helped a lot!

I haven't swapped yet. Another question...where does a feller get the clamp ring that holds the air filter hat on the carb? (f134)

You might try Walck's, Krage, etc. or put a wtb ad in the classifieds. On an informational note, generally a good idea to separate unrelated questions into different threads. Your question doesn't get hidden in an unrelated thread that way and you'll get better responses.

I'd be interested in the fan install ... what fan, how attached, etc.

My air hat clamp was long gone and replaced by a hose clamp that worked well.

I'm going to try to take some pics and stuff this weekend of the Jeep, brakes, lift, fan, alternator, etc. for the forum. I will start a new thread and discuss it there i guess. Should I just post all the pics I take on that thread or catagorize the threads with the appropriate pics??? Really green here so any help would be wonderful from the seniors.:?
