I just had my mechanic install a new master cylinder in my Jeep, and the pedal goes to the floor once, then is decent next push, then fine after that. Is the system not bled correctly? Did he put the wrong master cylinder in the Jeep? I have the D44 rear with drums (I believe 10") and I have a scout D44 front with discs. No power brakes. What's the deal? I've also heard something about a residual valve? Any further info on that?

    Re: Master cylinder dilemma

You will need a residual pressure valve for the disk brakes that is different from the one built in the MC for the drums. 2lb valve for disks, 10lb valve for drums.
Wilwood pressure valves, red for drums, blue for disk.

Your brakes are probably not bled good if the pedal goes to the floor once and then they work.
