It will be a while before I can rebuild the L 134(not original) in our '45 MB so I was thinking about dropping in the 1962 F 134 my dad has in his shed. We also have a couple of small Holley 1 barrel carbs that came off 60's vintage Ford I6's that I think are the carbs that clear the hood. What do I need to use for connecting to the air filter and what would you recommend for an air filter? The MB's air filter is missing but we have the '62 CJ5 air filter. The MB was set-up with dual 6 volt batteries in I believe a six volt configuration. I am contemplating switching to the '62 12 volt starter and reguletor or maybe a alternator.

You'll need a voltage drop to protect the gauges. Speedwaymotors.com or www.centechwire.com should have them.

As far as the an air filter goes, you need whatever your can find to fit the carb. ljspop used an early ford bronco aircleaner on his m38 with a motorcraft 2100. But he had a dauntless in it and this wouldn't fit a one-barrell.

You could go ahead and get an MB filter now, since it doesn't mount to the carb anyway, then just run a tube over to it.

I just put a f-head in my 2A. Used a holley 1909 model carb from a 62 ford falcon. Can also use a 1904/08 carb. You'll need to swap the front plates on the motor for the engine mounts, or just weld a rear facing motor mount hole on the driver's side front plate.

Same reason for the swap, had a good F-head, and a bad L-head. Whenever I restore, it will get the L-head rebuilt.
