64 Cj ?

I found a local Jeep for sale, claimed to be 1964, has V6 with V6 emblems, good metallic green paint, 3spd and 18 t-case, appears to have factory/dealer option winch (Ramsey) and dealer option tow hitch. Still has original steps (bent but fair condition) rust pits in passenger floorboard and rust pits on trans cover on pass. side with some holes, also has hunting rack for spare tire that is hinged from both sides and dual jerry cans. Most of this appears consistent with an estate sale item or a Jeep kept in a barn for a long time, also tool box is about 1/3 rd filled with mud dobber nests which is also consistent with last licensed in 1993 said to run ok with a trailer for 3700$ (2800$ for Jeep). This is Texas and Jeep prices tend to run to the high side, but I was still wondering if it was a worthwhile purchase or if it was not as original as I thought?:? Sorry no pics camera is broken. Is it worth messing with or not?

 

If it is a 64 the 225 is not original they did not come from the factory until 66. check the vin numbers to determine if the year is correct.

 

If you are able (money wise) to save a Jeep and have fun useing it, go for it

 

Sounds like a ok deal to me, Love the winch and v6.

 

3700 with a trailer seems pretty good. Especially since its likley to be mostly rust free.
