I've been lurking here for a while, but never to rarely posted. My name is Rick Paulick and I'm from Green Bay,WI. I've owned several CJ's in my life, my first vehicle purchased in 1984 was a 1979 CJ-7. Brad Rabideau, I see you posting on here, you may remember me as your neighbor and a long time good friend of your brother (RIP Jon). Brads dad is highly responsible for my Jeep addiction. As a kid he used to give me rides home from school almost daily in his CJ-6 which was actually cut down into a '5 to allow for a fiberglass body. I believe Brad still owns this today. I've basically been a Jeep addict since about 5 years old and have owned one or more ever since. (40 yrs old now).

Anyway, enough of the memories...I picked up a 1968 Jeepster a while back and will be doing a resto/mod with it. It was in a backyard of a client of mines house, sitting for about 7 years. So far I changed all the fluids, fuel and brake lines, went through the brakes, and within a 1/2 day of dragging it home, she runs great.

I'm thinking about putting a 30/20 combo in it as I have access to a narrow track set. Whats your thought on this? My plan is to run Alcan Springs, probably 5 inches of lift, and run a 33x9.50 BFG All Terrain on the factory rims with hubcaps. I'd like to do some mild off-roading and will also add a rear locker. Even though I'm easy on the gas, I don't think the rear 30 will last. Whats your thoughts! Thanks! Rick

    Welcome aboard.
    I would use a 44.
Bigger is not always the answer.
But in this case yes a 44 would be better.

If that is an original convertible , I would restore. It looks to be in decent shape for being in WI. Nice find.
