FINALLY. My schedule has been kind of scattered since i started this project and it has been sitting for the last 5 years. But TODAY! I got the HEI stuff from a buick installed on my 225, timed right, gapped right and hit the button and it started finally. I ran it for about 30 minutes, still needs some carbing and timing, but I am feeling much encouraged.

My next task is the clutch. It is all assembled and in place, I now have to find a way to mount a hydraulic slave somewhere to operate the fork. My question is how hard should it be to move the fork by hand? I haven't put a big tool to it because I was afraid to bend the end of the fork, but didn't know how hard to push/pull. How hard should it be and how much movement should i have? I put a new clutch in it, can't remember who's now, it was in a blue box if I remember correctly and has the little weighted fingers to get more grab, etc, etc, etc. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks, MRW

You can move the freeplay of the throwout, but you wouldn't be able to actually disengage the pressure plate.

If you use "Search", the hydraulic setup has been discussed quite a bit before. Posimoto and Scott Milliner and some others have posted up their setups here: http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26956
