Looks like a D20, smells like a D20...

...but what's this little bonus on the backside?

I just picked up a bunch of parts last night in the dark and got something I wasn't expecting and have never seen before. Its a Dana case with a centered rear output, a passenger front output, and one additional output shaft on the backside, along the bottom of the case between the front and rear output axiis.

Anybody recognize this and know what the application was, or if its just an optional PTO?

 

that, my friend, is a pto. It replaces the tin oil pan usually found on the bottom.

 

I guess what I'm wanting to know is where it came from. Is this a unit you could get from the dealer, or is it an aftermarket piece. If aftermarket, does anybody recognize it?

 

Aftermarket. CLearly a PTO (power take off) for a winch or other heavy accessory equipment. Should have a brand ID somewhere, but I'd guess it's Ramsey.
