T14 and D18 Rebuild Kits

    On the T-case.

    1. Make sure to use a good (hardened) intermediate shaft (Novak).
    2. Use all the tricks to seal it up so it doesn't leak (ok, so it doesn't leak worse than it did before the rebuild).

    It does not have a standard intermediate shaft.

    I have never seen so much RTV.... Who ever did it last did not use any seals, just a bunch of RTV.

    Why would one beaing (right) be packed with greese and the other (left) appear to be "clean"?

    maybe because the rear is turning all the time (and gets fresh oil) whereas the front doesn't unless the hubs are locked.

    Is it possible the "greased" bearing was greased at the previous rebuild, and the grease never dissolved into the gear oil?
