I am looking for a parts list and or picture of a dana 18 emergency brake. The PO removed the E brake, and as I go along with my project I would like to install one. I can find the drum, pads, & cable, but there has to be other parts to complete the emergency brake.

I know Herm has them, he ask if I wanted him to put one on when he had my trannt & transfer case, but due to $$$ I passed. If all else fails when I am ready I can always take a ride up to Herm's and get one.

Here's a link to the 3B website, that has pitures also. Parts are available on ebay, or at kragemotorsports.com, or any willys suppliers. You probably already have the rear mounting housing on the TC. I had the same problem several years ago, I bought the shoes, drum off ebay yoke was installed on TC. Besure and get a rear output shaft seal too. If adjusted properly this TC ebrake is much more effective in hill holding power that the newer style that onlt the rear tires hold you on the hill.

Thanks Panzer & Jeeper50. I talked to my father in law and he highly recommended putting this style E brake in verse one through the rear backing plate's. He said the beauty of a transfer case mounted E brake is that they are simple and the work great.

    Really?

Typically what I've seen/had happen is that the D18 leaks (which it is notorious for), saturates the ebrake shoes with gear oil and the whole deal is useless.

I'm really looking forward to ditching the tCase brake in favor of a cable to the rear drums.

I have 11" drums, which can accommodate a cable.
