shackle reversal

    The top of the shackel should point toward the front of jeep.
    And the bottom toward the back, slightly when new.

    It will sag a little with age.

    As has been stated before. there is only one way to cure bump steer. A more level drag link. Making it curved won't help if bump steer is your problem. The best thing you can do is use true high steer knuckles, and go high steer. Going to a shackle reversal won't help either.

    I did the swap because my Jeep was so unstable driving down the road. It was scary, I just couldn't keep it in a straight line. My shackle reversal cured that and I am very grateful for it.

    The bottom of the shackle (the part the spring bolts to) should point to the rear slightly. The picture is taken from the passenger side.

    Posimoto, CJ-X, TexCO, and TrickP--thanks for all the help, 98% done with reversal, and looking good to me. Driveshaft needs install, and alignment, and my front end will be done! I left the shackles straight vertical, so when springs age and start to sag, they bottom will angle slightly to the rear. Thanks Again--Mike:beer:
