I have a question for you guys I had my jeep throw a rod right through my block ( ok my wife was driving it) :) and I kept the heads, and the crank, I have since gotten a new motor for it ( new/ rebuild 225) and it had the crank, and the heads my question is there is one of the journals, the one that the bearing spun has some damage to it it has some kinda looks like dings in it, they are not scratches more like gouges and I am wondering if this is a use-able crank? i will see if i can get you guy some pics but is there a certain amount they take off before "there is no turning it any further?

just wanted to check before i toss the crank instead of getting to someone who may be able to use it. thanks guys :):):):v6::beer:

Best bet is to take it to a machine shop and see if they can measure it to see if it's still good.

First it needs to be magnafluxed to see if there are any heat cracks from the tossed rod. If it is cracked, it is either scrap metal or you might could make a lamp out of it! Otherwise if it is not cracked, your plan is a good one. Matt W.

Hey, look We only live 325 miles apart, I am in Grand Junction Colorado. If you are in no hurry, I come out to Ogden every 3 months or so. I could pick it up, Magnaflux it at work, and then return it to you. Let me know, Matt W.
