Windshield wiper motor.

I'm wondering if a '76 to '86 model windshield wiper motor will work on my '74?

My FLAPS got one in for me and when I went to pick it up, I realized it was no where close to being the same. They just called and advised me that they have check with all their sources and can't get me one.

Judging by the pics I've seen of the ones off the newer '76 to '86 they look identical, but I'd like to verify before I start hiking across the wrecking yards.

If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate it! I'm a windshield wiper motor away from state safety inspection sticker time!
