Plug wire harness

I was looking at the featured jeep pics and came across Eddie Turners 65 cj5. ( nice jeep )
One of the later pics shows the engine bay from the top. I noticed that the spark plug wires
were routed over the front of the engine, around the oil filter and dip stick. On the 2 1960's cj's
I have had the plug wires were routed behind the carb, over the throttle linkage rods. He has the same bracket
it appears to be attached to the front valve cover nut instead of the rear one.

Can anyone say anal-retentive R)

For resto and originality which is correct or were both positions used?
