Does anyone know what spare tire carrier will fit my 74? The original body was replaced by the PO with an unknown year metal body bought from a now defunct jeep rental place in or near Ouray CO. There is no tailgate. It is a CJ5 body. The solid back panel has a raised channel runnning along the top with 4 holes, the two outer most do not go thru into the body, the two inner (larger) do. Also two hole below on the panel itself (which go thru) the two inner (channel) holes, but slighty offset to either side of the two inner holes (by approx 1 inch). It appears that a M38 spare carrier might fit.

I have those same holes on my '79.

All 4 holes go all the way through.

The carrier is plenty strong enough for a big tire. The back panel will break at each corner before the tire carrier will (DAMHIK).
