Hi, I was wondering if anyone here could help me out. I have a jeep with the 225 v6 and I cracked my drivers side exhaust manifold pretty bad. This is my current daily driver and Im stuck. Can anyone here help me out with a spare manifold or some info on what to look for as a donor? Ive heard that some other buick cars use the same manifold. Mine is the rear dump that exits toward the rear at an angle. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I had an old Isuzu Trooper that I cracked the exhaust manifold on. They wanted $200 at the bone yard plus I had to pull it. I took it to the local muffler shop and he welded it for $10 lasted over 100k miles. Not sure if that would work for you but maybe worth a try.

RWD GM cars that use the 231 would have the proper manifold, but they can be hard to find unfortunately.

I have a 134 F head with a welded manifold. Its lasted five years so far. I took it to a friend who had ben the lead welder where I work. Cast is hard to weld, but it could fix your problem for a while. Good luck.

I have an extra drivers side manifold for the 225, but I believe that it dumps to the front. Let me know if you have an interest in it.

if you choose to weld it clean it up real good and use a high nickle content rod such as rockmount brutus 3/32 it works very good on cast iron if you dont have a welder a weld shop wont charge very much probaly min. hourly rate

Now you've made me wonder. But the Jeepster that I used to look at moved to Texas last month. It was a '71 with the Saginaw steering.

that Jeepster if still stock would have the rear dump mani on it.
the 231 will work, but he'd have to redo his exhaust, and it *might* clear his steering shaft, it's real close there as it is

I do agree with cast being tricky to weld. You should use a 55% nickel rod. You also need to pre heat the piece with an acetelyne torch. Cast is very porus and this helps with contamination and when you weld it you get good penetration. If you do choose to weld it be ready for the price of nickel rod because it is a bit more than 7018 or 6011. But any good welding shop should beable to complete this. I have welded a steam trap at work for practice.....it broke when it froze. the first try it held 75psi during the pressure test so it ground it out and rewelded. 150psi this time. much better. Don't think exhaust is that high psi though? Hope this helps. Oh I have what you are looking for but it is in my JEEP right now. Sorry I could not help.
