I blow my muffler apart yesterday with a nasty back fire. The whole system is shot. Where can I get the engine pipe, muffler and tail pipe for a 71' V6?
    Thanks

Napa usually carries Walker exhaust. I looked it up on the Walker online catalog, still show all the pieces

The Walker catalog only shows an exhaust system for the V6 CJ with the under-seat tank. For your '71, I'd suggest you ask your local FLAPS to check on availability for the '70-71 with the rear tank. I'd expect the online catalogs to show only the current catalog and not any old stock. You can also try Maremont - another exhaust parts supplier. Your FLAPS should know of all the possible sources.

If that fails, you could get the exhaust (engine) pipe for the earlier model, a generic muffler, and have your local muffler shop bend up an intermediate pipe and tail pipe. The muffler should be easy - you can look those up by length and input/output size, and the plain pipes should be easy for the muffler shop to make up. Just don't let them weld it all together ... they'll want to! I'd suggest you use double clamps and rubber hangers.

The only Walker exhaust part still made for the CJ5, V6 is the tailpipe. They still show part numbers for the other pipes but they're not currently produced.

Any decent muffler shop with a pipe bender should be able to make up the pieces for you. They should have a book detailing the length/bend dimensions, last time I had an exhaust job on Tonk thats how they did it.

I am unclear if you need the Y pipe that connects the cylinder heads or not. I don't think that the y pipe or any of the exhaust is widely available. I had a complete system made in stainless by Kepich exhaust in FLa (advertises in Hemmings). It was spendy but will not rot.
