update... Got the springs from bds and they are 5 inches longer eye to eye on the floor. Put it under the jeep and it fit right into the shackle like it should. I wish I would have went with bds 3 months ago. There would be alot less new words for my daughters to learn. Thanks to all. Hopefully no more surprises!

If you used a credit card to make the purchase, call the card company. You can dispute the charges if you got the wrong parts. Typically they remove the charges, debit the merchant, and then it's up to the merchant to make good on the sale.

Nope, paid cash...Anyway got the springs in and now the rustys rear springs are way to high. It looks like I didn't get 2.5 inches out of the bds springs. I put longer hd shackles in the front but it still looks jacked up to high in the rear. How long for the springs to settle in? It looks like I have about 5 inches or so from the top of the axle to the original bump stop. Also the shocks I got from rustys are to long, only have about 2 inches travel before they bottom out. Way before the bump stop. I think stock shocks would work better. Can you guys check how much room there is on your rigs from the top of the axle to the frame or bumpstop. thanks for the help.

From what you have told us...My bet that you got the correct 2.5 lift from BDS...and the wrong lift from Rusty's. I'll wander over to the shop and measure my bump to axle for you in a bit.

I'm sure your right. But can my rustys rear springs be 6 inch lift springs? I dont want to buy another set of springs and u bolts again! I think I will put some sand bags in the back and hope that it will settle. And then there is the shocks.......

It would seem...that everything you have gotten from Rusty's has been a complete disaster. If it were me (in the same situation) I would most likely try and get everything I bought from the offending party off of my Jeep. My reasoning would be...if they can't get ANYTHING right...even the most simple detail...Then I would be in constant worry of something I purchased from them failing and leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere. Chances are...you will probably be fine...but I am neurotic enough that I would let the one questionable part ruin my trip.
I know you have really taken it in the shorts on this whole deal...so buying anything else to fix what should of been right in the first place really rubs you the wrong way...but...sometimes it's for the best.

How about pulling the rest of the springs and selling the entire package on eBay? As long as you don't misrepresent the parts, it would be ethical. You should be able to get half your money back, and that will pay for BDS rear springs and some conventional shock absorbers.

BTW I would avoid angry/recriminating statements in your sale info if you decide to go this way. Just say you got the wrong springs for your app, and you want to resell them. Put a starting price of 1/2 new, and describe the parts fully.

Okay, I went a measured...I have a 4 inch Rancho and keep in mind, they have been on there a long time and have seen a lot of abuse...so I'm sure that will affect the measurement a little. My rear axle is 6 1/4 inches from the bump stop.

I cant sell it! Then the next guy has a lift he can't use. He would be as ****ed off at me as I am at Rustys... and if it sold local he would know where I live. I am going out to measure the front and back axles to bumpstop for some numbers. Thanks guys...again.

No, that's not true. They fit something, just not your Jeep.

IIRC the flatty springs (CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B, M38) are shorter than the CJ-5 springs - at least one of the pair (front or rear) is shorter. If you give the measurements in your sale, and don't claim they are for a CJ-5, then of course you can sell them. Do some additional research and see if they are the right length for a flat-fendered Jeep.

They might be for a flatfender. I'll check that. Anyway my front top of axle to the factory bumpstop is 4.5 inches with the bds springs and 1inch longer shackle. the back is 8.5 from the top of the axle to the bumpstop. I think the bds springs didn't give me 2.5 inches. Now what.

Well...if my back is 6.25 inches away from the stop with a four inch lift and yours is 8.50 with a 2.5 inch lift...one of us got the wrong lift kit.
Yours is sitting high in the back...sounds to me like you have about a six inch lift in the rear.
Maybe get a picture of how it sits...We could tell you if the back looks like a 2.5 lift or not.

I'll post some pics hopefully soon. I think the front isn't 2.5 inches of lift. its been so long since it was stock (3 months) that I cant tell anymore. Maybe I'll put 35s on the rear and 33s on the front! hahahaha...... Whats your front measurement? Thanks for all the input!

I agree with Tim. I've done that before. Gotten the wrong thing and posted it with pictures and described the exact measurements of what I had and what the condition was. Somebody will be happy to get a smoking deal. Shipping isn't that much. I'd put them in the box and let the UPS store weigh it so my shipping cost and size would be accurate in the listing. Then a prospective buyer types in their zip code to get shipping cost.
