    Evening folks,

The good news is we finally found a nagging rattle in the engine compartment. Bad news is it is the heat riser. No luck finding anything local and I checked all of the online places I can think of. Anyone have a source for a heat riser for the 225?

See a few come up on ebay once in a while, NOS and used, could always run an ad on here. Worst case you could wire it open for now so you don't have to listen to it rattling. It's actually quite surprising that's it's actually still free enough to rattle, they're usually rusted to the point the valve doesn't move any more.

I uncoupled the spring on mine. Here in south georgia we really don't get cold enough long enough for it to be an issue. Just leave it open.

Thanks for the thots, guys. I seem to have all of the parts still thee, and I am not sure what "broke." There is a a single wire spring (not a coil spring) about three inches long that is loose and there seems to be a place for it to hook on to a shaft, but it doesn't really fit there. Anyone have a picture of what it should look like? We do get cold enough here in the Ca central valley that I would like it to work.
