Throttle cable shortening

Anybody done this??? I have my EFI all done and both cables I have are way too long. I need a very short one. I looked on Summit racing, but all of theirs are long as well. Do you think Lokar has custom lengths???

I think that is why the throttle return is a bit slow as I have the cable bound up a bit.

With the efi, when you let off the throttle it will hold it for a half second or so at 1200-1500 rpm if thats what your experiencing it perfectly normal.
Back to the throttle cable, i have mine in a loop for 5000 miles now with no issues.

The V8 cable is shorter than the I6, IIRC. Being extra-long won't hurt though, as long as the bends aren't sharp.

If you can measure the ideal length, and your parts store will cooperate, they can find one for you of that length. It's a generic item. Either that or go to the pick-your-part and look for one the right length, then buy one for that app new.

RATTYFLATTY I think you need a little more throttle

A stock wag cable is nice and short like a V8 CJ cable $5 + shipping and its yours

Since we're on the throttle cable subject, anyone know the exact length one is for a 74 CJ5 with 258? The PO seems to have shortened it a bit and when you depress the pedal all the way down it is still inches from touching the floor. Plus I can see the frayed end and it looks as though he tied it in a knot on the end.:?
