Flattie Cage attempt

    Well this will be my 1st real welding project. Spent most of last night bending and tacking a cage together and have been trying to weld it up today.

    Looks like the rusty stuff I get from Dillon. I had to disk the entire piece of square stock I get from them.

    The rusty stuff was DOM my friend Marc had left over from his cage,the pretty black stuff is Scedule 40 from Feild's ornamental.
    I can't tell you how much Marc has helped me. He builds t-tops and towers for boats for a living and really knows his way around a pipe bender, even made me nice little handles!

    Looks like a sporty little cage! Jeez, without even welding the tube cutting/bending is a feat in it's own!

    nice work. what type of bender did you use? And how did you knotch the tubing for fitting points?

    I will ask him what type bender it is,air/hydro pump. Weused a portaband saw to cut out the notches.

    Doesn't everybody claim Marc as their friend? He wrote that tech article on how to notch tube with a chop saw that floats around the internet.
