79 CJ5 Hard Top and Doors

Has anyone built a hard top and doors for their CJ? I have the dimensions for the top, but not much for the doors. I'm going to use card board as my template then transfer that to 1" thick styrofoam sheets then shape it to form with tape and sanding. Final step is epoxy and fiber glass then paint. Might be able to make lift gate but up in the air about that one. Just need ideas on doors. Obviously I won't have a roll down window but will have some plexi in it. Thanks in advance for any help and it will be gladly appreciated.

 

Since you're doing a lot of fiberglass fab work anyway, can you just get a CJ7 top and cut it down to the correct size? Just a thought. You'd still have to make the doors to fit, but it was just a thought.

Sounds like a lot of work. Good luck with the project. Make sure you keep us updated if you take this project on. If it were me, Id just spend the money on a CJ5 Acme top or something. You can find them for sale on ebay from time to time. Usually run $500-$800 for the top and doors.

I found this on ebay and bought the plans. It looks to be pretty easy, I also like the look of it. if you do a search for WOODIE ,WOODY,TOP PLANS, For Jeep CJ and Others in ebay you should get it.
