Hey I was wondering if you can still purchase dash pads for my 73 cj5. Also will the ones for the newer cj's work with mine (the ones with the Jeep logo on them)? Thanks for the help!

I have a 1979 CJ5 and from what I've seen, the 76-87 CJ dash pad is definitely different than the early-mid 70's CJs. It looks like yours would be a straight pad with different mounting points than the later CJ pad which has curves and different angles and 4 mounting screw holes to the dash. I'm not sure where you could find a dash pad for a '73. From what I've read on these forums, it's a little harder to find parts for the early-mid 70's CJs. Good luck, though, because someone has to make them.

Maybe somebody has a NOS one, or used, otherwise NLA AFAIK.

You could try one of the big Jeep wrecking yards. Where are you located? Putting your location in your sig or header will help.

There are tabs sticking out from the top that hold it to the windshield frame using self-tapping screws, right below the glass. The bottom is held by the windshield latch bolts.

Finally found mine. The top does have the tabs for the sheet metal screws. The bottom has four wire clips that snap flush into corresponding holes in the windshield frame. The pad is shaped to go around the windshield latches.

I don't know if his helps or not (I have a 1970 model), but here a re a couple of pictures of what I have left of my dash pad. I only have the backing plate, but this shows how it was attached in 1970 at least.
