does anybody know if the 1980-81 T-18 that came in the j-20 truck that had a np208 transfer case has the same bolt pattern to match a dana 300. Im pretty sure the spline count is the same but unsure of the bolt pattern.

You mean the D300 from a CJ? Yes, they both have the NP circular pattern. The clocking may not be right, but the bolt pattern is the same.

Look on the Novak site about the spline count.

Note this is J20 only and 1980 or later, with a driver's drop NP208. They aren't plentiful...

The np 208 from the t170 series of transmission has 23 spline just like the dana 300. The NP 208 from the t18 has 31 spine like the ford t18 transmission. You cannot get a dana 300 to bolt to the t18 with a change in the input of the dana 300. It will bolt up to the adapter.
