hey guys i am thinking about swapping a 4.1 buick v6 into my cj5.

does anyone have a link for a flywheel.

did this engine ever come with a flywheel?

i think novak had a link to a company but they wanted like 400 bucks for a new flywheel. just looking for ideas.

Hi - it's your Jeep, you can do with it what you want, but why this engine?

    welllllllll

i have several jeeps. and my 62 cj5 got a 3.8 swap with a th350. shortly after completeing the swap i had a guy offer me another "3.8" out of a car that he was going to use for dirt track racing. well it ended up being a 4.1.

so its kind of a run what ya brung thing. the engine has been sitting in my garage for awhile and i would like to use it.

hope this helps to explain my situation.

SO this is not for the '73 CJ-5/6 (what does that mean? Lengthened CJ-5?).

yes since u brought it up. i did take a 5 and extend the frame to get the 6.

i live in iowa and even though the jeep only had 45000 miles on it, the tub/frame were in bad shape. the original owner only used it for winter transprotation.

the drivetrain was very solid but the frame and tub were trashed. since i have two little girls i thought i might be better off with more room and a 6. i ended up with the JCW glass body and right now the jeep is getting a cage. the jeep has a 304 and 3 spd (t15?) and is going to end up as a daily driver for me!

i hope to have it done this spring.

technically timgr the 4.1 will be for a buddys 85 fourunner! i just thought u guys may be off some help here! sorry for being so sneaky:twisted::)

The reason I ask is becasue you're in the wrong forum for V6 expertise. You'll get a lot more responses if you post in the 'early CJ-5 and CJ-6' forum.

    :AMC:  Cheers!
