Good luck, I find it difficult to find time to work on mine also. Maybe you will have it running in no time.

Its just a long wheel base

Like the 6 is to the 5

    Its a late 70's early 80's model I think

Im just having trouble getting here to fire at the moment
I got seatbelts out of my old nissan i took to the wreakers last month bolted straight into the seatbelt holes that were in my cage

Ive finally gone and done a lil work on the old girl
Ive begun the process of putting coil over suspension in the front as the original is sezied up good and I'd like a bit more flex then what it would give if it was good anyway
    [IMG]
this is a pic of the original suspension before starting this morning
    [IMG]
I had to make a new bracket to hold the control arms in place as they are 20mm wider then the original leafs
    [IMG]
These are the coil overs I will be using

Changing to the coil overs is also going to move the diff forward about 50 - 100mm
Ive only made the one bracket but will keep you guys updated

Ive finally made the brackets for one control arm and almost completed the over side
I took the stand holding up the chassis out so i could lower it and tie it to the diff on the side I took out so I could get it high enough to work on but the suspension is so stiff that the chassis stayed level droping half inch at the very most n only went down a inch when I put weight on it:)

What a mission it was there is no flat land round this place as soon as I got the leafs un attached the jack feel over and everything landed in funny places nothing damaged though

Got the brackets for the control arms tacked onto the diff today to see if I got it right and so far so good
The only problem I can see at the moment is that Ive moved the diff to far foward and will have to cut the front bumper for my 32's to fit and lengthen the drive shaft a bit

hopefully if its not raining tomorrow ill be able to get it attached to the chassis

(brothers Frankenstein project in the background of the second pic)

found a few "little" problems with this coil over setup
where the new bracket goes on the drivers side is where the steering box and master cylinder bolt to the chassis
looks like im going to have to put swing pedals and new power steering system in it any way (good excuse to spend the money now)
    and
Ive moved the diff forward 100mm or so making it so I have to cut the front bumper so the wheels will fit

I got the front diff back on this morning
it all lined up quite nicely
I have move the front diff foward 100mm (4 inches approx)
These photos where taken at bout 7pm cause my brothers camera phones better then mine
I played with the brightness and contrast to get the pics to look good

If your talking bout the last 2 pics its welded to a big fat piece of box then to the chassis to get the extra width I needed for the control arms

gotcha.....the torque on that would be immense I'd imagine, I was just concerned w/ overall strength

Im a little concerned with how strong its gana be to but im putting in another control arm and the coil overs dont have any points in them that can rotate or anything
Im having a certified welder re wield it all so its as strong as possible

If it brakes make it stronger ;)

    Just a little update
Me and my brother took the body off yesterday to provide better access to the points we have to weld
we got the strut towers in place ready to go in the front
we cut the old spring mounts off his Suzuki to put on the back
we have one side in place and need to cut the other side off
will have pics to upload soon
