A few months ago my daughter was driving the 68 on I10 in phoenix az at about 70 when the hood flew open and she lost the windshield. But that was all she hurt she told me the training I gave her on how to safely control pulling off the road she leaned out the door and found a shoulder to pull on to. Did I say I am proud of her?

Still at the end of the day she needs to replace the windshield and the local glass shops say it is not available. Any sources.....

I live in NC and just got mine replaced. Pilkington Glass company (brand of windshield) makes one to fit thats the only one i found and the local shop could get it for me. you could always have one cut B/C its a flat piece of glass worst come to worst.

    You could try Desert Rat.
They can at least send you in the right direction. Bell Road just east of Cave Creek, south side.

Another store in Tempe somewhere. And they are on the net.

    Three to try....

4wheeler's supply off of East Washington. 602-273-7195

    Or

Statewide Four wheel supply (602) 944-0396

    Or

    http://www.willysworks.com/

Statewide is a nice old couple, but they tend to think that their "used" stuff is gold. I ended up driving to WillysWorks in Tucson for a windshield frame when Statewide wanted waaaaaay too much for one that was in as bad of shape as mine.

You just need the glass? It should be easy to get. Try Glass Doctor off of Platte, I just had them make me two pieces formy v windshield. Also, FNJeep ill have them. They kinda have the market on used JEEP parts in the area so they are slightly inflated (IMHO).

Is the JEEP still in Phoenix, or did she make it back home to Colorado with it?

I called the local glass shop which had a pattern on hand to cut from bulk glass. They offered clear or tinted, both were under $100 if I installed. I think any shop could make one from your windshield frame, too.
    Gotta watch that Jeep budget.

Yeah, Glass Doctor only wanted a piece of cardboard to use as a template. Just trace one out from your windshield or bring in your frame and have it installed. I cracked a windshield trying to install the glass myself once and learned the hard way. It cost me thirty to have the glass installed. For me well worth the money.
