I'm looking for a source for a longer speedometer cable. I'm building a new dash for my 67 CJ5, and need about 1 more foot of speedo cable length. Any ideas?

Lokar makes several custom fit cable kits, but they don't offer a jeep specific fitment guide, so I don't have any idea what to get.

There was some talk about this on the Jeepster Commando board, should be the same speedo cable as the Jeepster. Here's what he said

    Here's his website: http://www.jeepsterpartsdude.com/

He'd be able to tell you what it fit.

here are some Jeep part numbers and their lengths
check with some of your local Jeep parts places
your stock length would have been the 60" cable
    535 1775 64.5"
    535 1776 80"
    535 1777 69 "
    535 1778 60"

I just ordered a new speedo cable for my '70. I got a 69", way too long and it seems to have fittings for a later model speedo. Anyway, I had never bothered to measure the old cable. When I pulled it out, I was a bit surprised it was only 46" long. Stock drivetrain was V6/T-14/D18.

If it's a "universal" ~0.105" square drive, "HELP!" product # 03368 is a readily available source for about $7 from an overpriced rural auto parts store.
    Edit: 72" long.
