Yes, the one on top is original, called a "Spartan".

So were you able to find the problem and fix it?

 

lol blinker fluid huh??? lol But ya I have the same problem with mine if I use my hazards for a long time they go soild and stop blinking

 

Ha! I forgot I was supposed to time myself! Everything takes a lot longer than it used to, and I've got lots of time.
In this case, what I found was a solder joint on the little circut board that appearedto be connected, but really was not. Sometimes it would touch, sometimes not, hence the intermittent.
Gasman gave me one out of his DJ parts truck, so I just switched 'em out. I did save the old one, and will resolder it as a winter project when the snows come. I've quickly learned that when it comes to the Jeep, throw nothing away.

My Spartan's lever is broken off
I still have it in my shop.
I bought the universal style (second picture above) and it worked good.

But now I'm going to replace the whole mess with a XJ column and power steering.
So I'll have the Turn Signal integrated now.

Its funny, my wife has gotten into restoring the Jeep, she was really upset that the new column wouldn't be skinny and look like the old one.
