Leaf Spring Alterations?

    The center bolt doesn't have a hex head on it on the Pro Comps I had, so I grabbed the head with vice grips. No problem getting it out otherwise. Kind of an involved mess to do all four corners, but it worked out.

    i want to remove some as well.
    i have 9 leaves in the back as well as coil overs from the P.O.

    remove the coil overs first. Just to see how much that helps. That is the non-stock item back there.

    as it is at 15mph mild washboard will put me in the ditch.

    Keep your options in mind for next year when I have your jeep. I can help with some suspension work as well if you want to look into it.

    When we get old - our buts loose the padding :D

    i dont want to put a dime in this thing until then.
    i am going to un-do those coil overs and see what happens (fingers crossed).
    if that does nothing i will remove a leaf or two.

    yes
    in the rear i have got about 7" between the rubber stop and the spring.
    the front about 4-5"

    Glad removing a leave helped. I think the brand of springs makes a diff. I run superlift 1" springs, slightly longer shackles, and rs9000 shocks with 32" swamper radials. My ride is really nice. I think you can achieve a really good ride with the right combination.

    Procomp springs are known for their harsh ride. Don't know why they haven't redesigned them by now. My friend removed the bottom leaf on his Pro Comps and it made a difference.
