Has anyone played around with using thicker or thinner spring in the same pack ie.: 5/16" top with 1/4 " 2-3-4-5 leafs? I understand thicker = stiffer and thinner flexier, but would it put to much strain on the top leaf? Or first two leaves 5/16" and the rest 1/4"?

I see overload springs much thicker but it has less arch and is for overloading!!! (duh)

This could be one way to custom tailor the spring ride and highth?? My thoughts are how would the arches come into play against one another? Would it put to much strain on the top leaf (leaves)?

    Any thoughts??

    Thanks, Dale

I pretty sure that is what the "extreme" guys due all the time. I am contemplating picking up a couple junkyard sets to work on my superlifts. I was thinking about keeping the the main leafs and swapping in some thinner leafs under them. If I lost an inch of ride height I would make it half of it up with shackles.
