1977 cj5 power steering

    does anybody know if you can install a cj5 power steering gear box to a jeep that doesnt have p.s.? im thinking of converting my manual steering to power steering. is this a drop in or would you need different brackets for the gear box?

    The power gearbox will bolt in. You may want to upgrade the gearbox bracket if it only has 3 bolt holes (power gearboxes have 4, but they still fit). You'll also need the brackets and power steering pump - look for a Wagoneer at the pick-your-part.

    Someone will want your manual steering box when you are through, so hang on to it.

    Still finding the last pieces for my conversion and time to work on it. In researching all the PS boxes I could us, be careful not to get one with a quick ratio. No pavement CJ5 needs that. Search here for PS conversions - lots of write ups.
