I rebuilt my Dana 18 and its tight in all ways---- but oil leaks out of the speedo connector. I have tryed everything-- Permatex and everything-- it still leaks. Is there some kind of seal inside that I forgot to install? That is a seal between the speedo gear and the cable? Does anyone know? It leaks major-- like 3 OZ a day and makes a 6"x6" oil spot on the driveway every day. This is totally abnormal.

Humm-- mine has no such o-ring I am using the 41 year old speedo cable--

maybe that could be it-- there is no other means to keep oil from leaking between the outside and the oiled speed-o gear inside the case.

Maybe I just need a new cable or find an o-ring??

    Hummm---- Thanks Scott
