I need to replace the driver side main leaf spring on my 75. Are there other other leaf springs that will fit other than the intermediates? My other option is to have one made. Then I'd want to have a set made to hopefully keep things level. Thanks Walt

Not to sure about this but when I walked into a spring shop they were able to spot my "old jeep" springs a mile away. I assume from the length and thickness. Apparently these springs are only on old jeeps so the chance of finding them elsewhere is slim. Depending on whats wrong, I would go to a good spring shop and have them fix yours. They deal with huge leaf springs so to deal with a Jeep spring is nothing to them. We have a great place in town. I walked in with one shaped like an "S". They said, we can fix that, it ain't bad. They charged me an hours labor and matched the other spring I brought in perfectly.

That's when you know you're in the right place...:) I had a driveline shop do that years ago...just walked in holding the rear d/s and the guy says -- ah gotta Jeep eh?

However - my $0.02 is to replace the springs as a set.

There's a guy in Castle Rock, CO, named Randy that's parting out several old mid-70's DJ5 mail Jeeps, I've bought two sets of 11" backing plates and some other stuff from him. Anyway, he's got a whole buttload of springs, all separated out to individual leaves, and he's been trying to sell them on Craiglist. Go to the Denver and/or Colorado Springs Craigslist and look the ads up under Auto Parts. I think they're listed as Willys Jeep Springs, not sure if the ads are still running though. His number is 303-663-2362.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out all the options. Mine is bent almost 90* at the mount under the driver about six inches up. I've straighten it some with the small press I have, but there is still some distortion.

Shouldn't there be a good shop in Ellensburg or Yakima that can set you up for a modest price? With all the orchards and truckers, there should be someone locally for you.
    Just wondering...
