I justed picked up a mid 80's Buick Even Fire V6 that has everything from the radiater to the bellhousing including the headers and mufflers. Also has the Advanced adapter bellhousing to mate it to a T90. It has an performance intake, holley carb, Hei and mild cam. I took the engine home and we are going to work out the priceat a later date. He said just give him a fair price for the engine and he will be happy.

So, what is a fair price for this? I have no idea.

So it looks like I will be looking for an adapter to mate the V6 to my T90 tranny. I wouldn't mind finding a 4 speed, but I would like to keep my cost down. What direction should I go with this, keep the T90, or upgrade to a better tranny? I don't plan on doing any hardcore rockclimbing, but I will take the jeep into the mountains and play.

    Thanks

    Matt

    $350-$400?

It came with a lotta stuff. Normally for a good :v6: I'd estimate $200 running, but that usually doesn't include radiators, bellhousings, adapters, etc! Wow.

It really is a nice deal. He is putting a 1997 TBI V8 into into his 68CJ and so everythings he can't use he is selling to me. I am very happy to find all these parts in one deal.

Around here a good running V-6 without the extra's you mentioned go for around $350-$400. Sounds like a great opportunity! If you are just planning on tooling around on trails I'd just rebuild the T-90 to make sure it's in good shape and have fun. You can keep costs down for now and can always upgrade later if you feel like you need to after driving it for a while. Nickmil

You probably didn't. Stuff up here is expensive like that because of high demand. No salting of the roads so our vehicles last forever. High demand for used engines, tranny's, axles, etc. to keep the older vehicles going. You don't even want to know what Dana 60 front axles go for up here, if you are lucky enough to find one. In the front range - with that much stuff - I would think $400 to $600 would be fair for known good stuff.

If you were around here, that would have been about a $2800-$3k gift!

For all those parts, depending on condition and local availability of those parts, I would think anywhere between $350 and $500 would be fair, perhaps even a bit low.
Personally, I always make a seller give me a ballpark starting range. What may seem fair in my eyes may not be fair in theirs.
