Okay all you fabricators, I am getting ready to build my front bumper from a 5x5 square tube(it's all i have) and I would like to see some pics of homebuilt bumpers for ideas. So, If you want to show off your bumpers I surely would appreciate any fresh ideas!!!!!

This may not help you much but I made this one out of 5" channel. Took about 3 hours. Still need to put the attachments for shackles. I used scrap 5" channel so the thing cost next to nothing. Second photo is what was on the jeep when I got it....in fact it was 5"X5" square tubing.

Thanks for the pictures!!!!! Your front Bumper looks like the one I built for my rear bumper. How was the 5" square tube mounted to the frame? Thanks again for the pics, I was worried that the 5" would stick to far out but it doesn't look too bad in the picture! I plan on making mine angle to the edge of the fender when I'm done and toppping it off with some sort of hoop.

This is the bumper that came with my 1955 Cj5. I cannot take credit for it's fabrication with the exception of the tow bar brackets. Somebody spent a lot of time making it and I think it is a really good job. And I wish I could take credit for it, it is very similar to Daves inTexas. Only this one has returns. This is where the extra work came in

Doug I just love that lift. Must make painting a breeze, and putting the body back on :)

this back one is 3X5 and pretty plain. The tow hooks work well.

Here's a pic of the one on my CJ-6 I built last summer. The winch mount on the bumper is bolted to DOM tubing that has been welded through the bumper and threaded. The clevis mounts on the front have been mounted the same way. I can use the bumper as an air tank. Not visible are the fittings for air and the drain. That's a Koenig PTO winch on it with R&P clevis brackets. Nickmil

I did this out of 2X4 tubing but it would work for 5X5, as well.
