    Introducing:

The MEGA Heater...50,000 BTUs of school bus heater fun...!

Great idea (I thought, anyway) for kicking some heat into my naturally AC'd flattie. In the end, it didn't fit up under the dash. It orginally had two squirrel-cage blowers that sucked air into the assembly and out a couple of different ducts. I cut those out and added two fans from off of the dash of the bus to blow air down through the heater core.

So.....coming soon to the classifieds: the not-so-mega heater (with the [hot] air removed from its sails).

Well you won't have to worry about overheating in the winter.

You can probably get rid of the radiator now.

It seemed like a great and easy fab since my CJ2A doesn't have any kind heater. In fact it was an easy fab...and still think a great idea. The bus was "one-stop-shopping" parts source and I was working with what I could get my hands on.
But...it didn't fit. The heater core pictured is just a little too wide, and there's no way to trim it down. The two fans would have been wired seperately, each with a two-speed switch, one for driver and one for passenger. I kept some of the louvered metal surrounds from the bus to angle the air flow to either side of the Jeep.

I never even thought anout the engine being able to heat it up, and that's a very good point. Thinking about it now, I suppose a heater that big may result in the motor not reaching an even operating temp, and the t-stat constantly opening and closing. I guess it's possible.

There's gotta be something you can use it for, that thing looks like it would rock! Heck, I'd hook it up to my water heater and use it in my basement. Cold down here!
