ON to my next project. In my research on this site under supension I seem to come across a point made by many. Do not use Rancho 5000 shocks and apparantly the PO didn't listen to y'all. I also have the 10/12 leaf spring pack which I know that doesn't help at all.

Question: Are the Rancho 5000's that bad and would different shocks make a noticeable difference?

I cannot fork out the money for a complete upgrade but was playing with the idea of buying shocks now and springs later.

If you are planning on keeping the same height suspension you have now then a good qualityshock would probably be a good upgrade. If you plan on changing suspension height (lift kit) then you would need to change shocks at that time (read longer shocks) so it would be a waste of money at this point IMHO as you'll be spending it twice on the shocks. I just hate to see people spend money twice on something. Nickmil

Thanks nickmil for the info and affirmation. I will probably upgrade my leafsprings later if it is still too rough. I am assuming that they sell replacement leafs to maintain a stock appearance or give only 0-1" lift in which case the shocks I buy should work regardless. Someone let me know if I am way off please.

    Thanks
