Ran the old 74 CJ5 for the first time today after installing a 2" shackle lift. The CJ5 wanted the whole road and more. I figure that my caster is off. Where can I buy some caster shims at a good price?

    nickmil In mothballs.

Might contact McRuff. He was making steel ones. Might still be. Stay away from the aluminum pos's. They crack and split down the middle. Nickmil

I order some from NAPA a few years ago. I can't remember if they were aluminum or steel. I didn't use them. I cut my spring perch's off and rewelded them, after setting the caster. I thought they were just something else to come loose. I think a new set of spring perch's were about the same price as the shims, IIRC.

I still make them, in fact I made some 5* shims to put on firefighter mikes cj6 last thursday. The ones I make bolt on to the spring pack.
Where in Alabama are you located?

I have 2 or 2-1/2 lift shackles. What would you suggest and what would be the cost for a pair that fits the 1.75" 74 CJ5 Springs?

    Thanks

Anyone have any stock shackles (4) for the 74 CJ if shims don't work out?
