    I am installing a painless wireing harness and I am confused about witch wire goes to what spade on the back of the ignition swith. Right now Im guessing. It would be nice to get it right the first time. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

    I hooked up a power sorce to the switch and I think I have it. Im guessing that one of the spades on the back of the switch that has no power to it is a ground ?

    Sorry about the dust in these photos. I put in an aftermarket harness, so my pin-out may differ slightly from this diagram:
    http://www.earlycj5.com/tech/wiring/pdf/CJ_With_V6.pdf

    The 4 wires coming out are:
    Red=Batt (+12vdc)
    White=Ign (Coil)
    Black=Acc (Parking lights, guages, radio, etc.)
    Purple=Starter (Solenoid)

    I don't believe there would be a ground on the switch. Remember all your switch does is allow or disallow current to flow.
