HI, I need a new distibuter cap and wires. My cj5 is swiss military and im not sure if its the same as a M38A2, or if its something the swiss put in as are a few other things on my jeep. there are no markings or tags on it, does it look familiar to anyone. View attachment 16550

never seen that before, but it looks as though it would be a type of waterproof dist.

The 24 volt military waterproof distributor I have looks very similar, except the ignition coil is inside the housing - it looks like this one has an externally mounted coil.
As far as I can tell the wires will be the same, but no idea where to get a cap.
You could swap in a civilian type distributor and have a regular cap, wires and ignition coil - might be easier than finding replacement parts.

Looks like a shielded adaptation on a 12-volt civilian distributor. I've heard of these, but never actually laid eyes on one. I would suggest that you post a message in the appropriate forum over on http://www.g503.com since those fellas are the gurus on military Jeeps. There is just a huge wealth of information to be had on the "G".
