Does anyone have an opinion on the rate of advance for an HEI Distributor on the Dautnless.

If you start out at 8 degrees advance and want to end up with 35 degrees at what RPM? Should you be all out at 2500 or 2000 or where? Should this be linear or more weighted to the upper RPM's.

The things that satisfy a simple mind!

Mine starts at 5, by the time it hits 2500RPM or so it's to a full 35* IIRC. Not like I run at anything higher than that. Lighter springs. I just used what the adjustable kit said to use as a default. Seemed good enough.

Rich Mott's has an excellent article with this addressed in it. You can find a link to it in the 225 section of the tech library.
