While looking at paint chips on the AutoColorLibrary site this evening I noticed that the color black was not among them from about '66 to '72. Seemed odd.

Hot rodders will tell you, black is the worst color for showing every little flaw and wrinkle. Bodywork has to be perfect to show black well.

this is only a theroy,if you were looking at the different paint colors avaliable these are used to match colors up as some of the colors are very close to one another black may not have been listed because black is black nothing close to it its either black or some other color, and may just not have been listed,i know in the late 60's there was only 2 colors of white didnt matter what brand vehicle you had if it was white it was one of the two
