I finally finished my disc brake conversion. So there I was standing in the driveway ready to test drive the jeep, grinning ear to ear First I do a test in the driveway, everything is good. So now to drive it around the block. I roll out of the driveway and the dang thing wouldn't turn. So I put it in reverse and backed it into the carport. At least the brakes worked so I didn't drive into the neighbors yard.

I think the problem is that the bolts I used to mount the caliper mounting brackets were a little too long and are making contact with the inner part of the steering knucke. I am going to try shorter bolts that don't stick out in to the knuckle this weekend. Can anyone give me their .02. Am I on the right track.

    First read this:

It's about doing the knuckle stud upgrade and makes things much stronger. The closed knuckles have a habit of pulling the threads out of the knuckle. This eliminates that problem and will eliminate the issue of bolts being too long. Nickmil

Interesting info, thanks Nick! I'm gonna be tearing my 25 apart before long and this might be worthwhile to do then.
