How much for a Dana 30?

I'm hoping to do the Dana 30 swap onto the front of my 71 & I'm wondering what i should expect to pay for a stock narrow track Dana 30 with front discs? Also, since the gearing won't match my D44 in the rear, any good recommendations for a source for new ones?

    Thanks ahead of time

$50 - $150 complete, depending on location. You shouldn't have any problems there in Boulder; I'm envious of your craigslist. Check your local Jeep clubs - they are generally considered "throw away" items among the hardcore crowd. I've literally been offered them for free before.

Best price I've found on new gears is through National Drivetrain, but you may be able to find used gears locally, again through the Jeep club and/or craigslist.

If you scroll to the bottom of this ad you will see the front axle sold for $150:

You might not want these axles, but go check out the transmission:

A few months ago I got one up the road in Phoenix for $100 complete with disk brakes but without a carrier. The two I found locally were $300 at a shop and $700 at a military surplus place that had taken it in on trade for something else. I think the surplus yard guy was trying to recoup his entire inventory investment in one fell swoop! The 30 I bought was in a rock crawler-kinda Jeep, so it's a little scared on the bottom and has SOA mounts welded on, as well as some extra shock mounts. I guess unless I roll the thing over, no one will see how beat up the case is. :)
